April 22, 2015: The head of Buddha rests against rocks in my backyard.

What you don’t see here is my entire zen space which is home to a full-bodied likeness of Buddha sitting in the lotus position, centered in the area with an assortment of candles behind it. There is also a small cup — I guess it could be considered a censer — with sand inside for burning incense when I sit and meditate.

In recent years I’ve taken to Buddhist philosophy as a way to bring peace into my life and to understand the importance of helping others. It is by no means the easiest thing to dissect and you could very well spend your life trying to untangle it but the important thing is to follow through practice it.

As Buddha himself said:

However many holy words you read, however many you speak, what good will they do you if you do not act on upon them?

Namaste.
